JAZZ and its origins
![]() |
The JAZZ apple was originally a cross between Gala and Braeburn, developed in New Zealand by HortResearch in 1985. This led to the planting of the first test orchards and JAZZ trees have grown commercially in the USA and France since 1999. |

Over 3 million trees had been planted throughout the world by 2006. This represents approx. 1800 hectares or 2250 football pitches. Cultivation of the JAZZ cultivars is now entirely planned and controlled by Enzafruit New Zealand . |
